Eligibility for the U. S. Public Health Service Active Duty Dental Program (PHS ADDP) extends to the Commissioned Corps officers of the PHS. The PHS ADDP does not require you to satisfy a waiting period in order to be eligible for dental coverage. We encourage you to register and log on to the Consumer Toolkit to verify and view your eligibility information online.

Family members of the Commissioned Corps officers of PHS are eligible for dental coverage under the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP).

Service Area

Coverage under the PHS ADDP is offered worldwide, so you are able to enjoy easy access to dental care regardless of where you live or travel. This easy-to-use interactive website and online self-service tools allow you around-the-clock access to your PHS ADDP information, wherever you are, whenever it's convenient for you.

Benefits and Coverage

Besides a broad scope of coverage that encompasses a wide range of the most commonly needed and used dental services, your PHS ADDP offers you the benefits of no waiting periods to satisfy, no deductibles to meet, and no maximum limits on the cost of your dental care throughout your enrollment.

The PHS ADDP offers coverage for most diagnostic and preventive, simple and major restorative, periodontic and endodontic, oral surgery, prosthetic and emergency services. Covered services under these categories are paid by Delta Dental at 100%.

The PHS has determined what services are covered under the ADDP based on PHS policies and regulations. Delta Dental's Federal Government Programs division administers benefits for the PHS ADDP. Dental services that are excluded from coverage under the PHS ADDP include orthodontics, inlays and cosmetic dentistry as well as surgical procedures to correct the jaw (orthognathic surgery) and services related to developmental growth deformities.
