San Francisco/Sacramento — Delta Dental of California announced today its selection by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to continue as a dental benefits administrator for the Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program (VADIP) through December 31, 2021.
The VADIP program offers Veterans who are enrolled in the VA health care system and eligible beneficiaries of the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the VA (CHAMPVA) the opportunity to purchase dental insurance. An estimated 8.7 million Veterans are eligible to enroll in VADIP. With the new contract, current VADIP enrollees will be able to continue their benefits with Delta Dental. Veterans who are interested in enrolling in the VADIP can enroll starting on November 15, 2017 for a dental care benefit start date of December 1, 2017.

Delta Dental supports a network of providers covering all 50 United States, Washington D.C., and the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Enrollees will have access to more than 200,000 network dentist locations, including 47,000 specialist locations and three Delta Dental VADIP plans at varying levels of coverage: Enhanced, Comprehensive, and Prime. Annual deductibles and maximums vary depending on the plan chosen; premiums vary based on plan and enrollee ZIP code.
