We Proudly Offer Quality Dental Care for Veterans
As administrator of the Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program (VADIP), it is our goal to provide high-value dental benefits and services for your needs. Delta Dental’s VADIP offers eligible Veterans and Civilian Health and Medical Program (CHAMPVA) beneficiaries a choice of three plans – Enhanced, Comprehensive or Prime – with single- or multiple-member coverage options. Covered services are offered in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Any Veteran enrolled in VA healthcare and any individual enrolled in CHAMPVA is eligible for the program.

Monthly Premium Rates
Use our rate calculator to find your monthly premium rate, which varies depending on the plan option you choose, where you live, and the number of eligible members who enroll. An initial one-month premium pre-payment is due at time of enrollment to make sure you’ll be able receive benefits the first day your coverage becomes effective. At the time you enroll, you must also set up an electronic funds transfer (EFT) of funds from your bank account or a recurring credit card (RCC) payment to pay your ongoing monthly premiums. Premium rates change annually.
Save Money with a Network Dentist
Delta Dental offers a large, nationwide network of quality dentists for VADIP enrollees. By using a Delta Dental VADIP network dentist, you’ll save the most on your out-of-pocket costs. Network dentists accept reduced fees for covered services, prepare and submit all your dental claims paperwork, and accept payment directly from Delta Dental. Seeing a VADIP network dentist also ensures you won’t have to pay more for your covered services than the program allows. Although you can visit any licensed dentist you choose, your costs are usually lowest when you see a VADIP network dentist.
Eligibility and Enrollment
Eligible beneficiaries include any Veteran enrolled in VA health care and any individual enrolled in VA’s Civilian Health and Medical Program (CHAMPVA). Dependents who do not qualify as a CHAMPVA beneficiary are not eligible.
It’s easy to enroll in VADIP online. You can also enroll by completing a paper enrollment application and mailing it to Delta Dental with your initial one-month premium payment. Once you’re enrolled, you’ll receive a “welcome” letter with program information and links to your benefits booklet and enrollment cards. You don’t need an enrollment card to receive dental care. However, if you prefer to have a card, once you’re enrolled and registered, you can view and print your card through the Consumer Toolkit.
Enrollment in VADIP is voluntary, and each enrolled beneficiary must fulfill an initial enrollment period of 12 consecutive months. After the initial 12-month period, you can continue enrollment on a month-to-month basis as long as you remain eligible for coverage. There is a grace period of 30 days from your coverage effective date during which you may cancel your enrollment without any further obligation, as long as you haven’t used any program services. Otherwise, you must remain enrolled for the duration of the initial 12-month period.
